FÁBRICA FUNARTE foi um espaço de prototipagem, fabricação e troca de conhecimentos idealizado pela Goma Oficina. Por meio de residência técnico-artística realizada em espaço cedido pela FunarteSP durante o mês Agosto de 2019, reuniram-se arquitetos e estudantes de arquitetura com o propósito de desenvolver o protótipo na escala 1:1 do pavilhão que abrigaria a 1ª Mostra GIFE de Inovação Social, no mês seguinte, no Centro Cultural São Paulo.
A utilização de peças pré-fabricada de alumínio extrudido, enquanto experiência inédita, exigiu do grupo uma pesquisa teórica prévia, mas principalmente o exercício prático da montagem, imprescindível para o entendimento do comportamento estrutural do que viria a constituir o pavilhão. O processo também dá continuidade à pesquisa em estruturas pré-fabricadas leves desmontáveis, desenvolvida pela Goma Oficina.
Durante o período da residência também realizamos algumas atividades abertas e com participação do público. A instalação artística “Círculo Cromático”, coordenada pela Maria Cau Levy, consistiu na montagem de um círculo de 4 metros de diâmetro contendo 12 cores criadas a partir das bases de tinta serycril e pintadas em lonas de algodão cru de 1×1,5m.
Fizemos o processo inspirados no círculo cromático da disciplina de colometría dos Vkhutemas de Gustav Klutsis, com objetivo de entender a cor como matéria e não como elemento estético e estetizante. Partimos das três cores primárias azul, vermelho e amarelo, e entre elas duas cores de distância, resultando nas 12 cores finais. A atividade contou com a participação de Celso Lima, que ao lado de Neide Jallageas, foi curador da anti expo Vkhutemas: O futuro em construção (1918 – 2018).
No dia 27 de Agosto a fábrica funarte recebeu a palestra aberta de Paulo Pires (curador, ensaísta e professor), convidado pelo Ministérios da Cultura e Educação de Portugal para assumir o cargo de Comissário Executivo do Plano Nacional das Artes. O Plano tem como principal intuito promover a igualdade de oportunidades no acesso a cultura por meio da articulação arte-cultura-educação com auxilio das instituições públicas e organizações comunitárias.

The FUNARTE FACTORY was a space for prototyping, manufacturing and knowledge exchange idealized by Goma Oficina. Through a technical-artistic residency held in a space provided by Funarte SP during the month of August 2019, architects and architecture students met with the purpose of developing the prototype in the 1: 1 scale of the pavilion that would house the 1st GIFE Innovation Exhibition in the following month at Cultural Center of São Paulo – CCSP.
The use of prefabricated extruded aluminum parts, as an unprecedented experience, required prior theoretical research from the group, but mainly the practical exercise of assembly, essential for understanding the structural behavior of what would constitute the pavilion. The process also continues the research on a light prefabricated demountable structures, developed by Goma Oficina.
During the residency period we also carry out some open activities with public participation. The artistic installation “Chromatic Circule”, coordinated by Maria Cau Levy, consisted of the assembly of a circle of 4 meters in diameter containing 12 colors created from the bases of serycril paint and painted on 1 × 1.5m raw cotton canvas.
The process was inspired by the chromatic circle of the Vkhutemas discipline of colorometry taught by Gustav Klutsis, in order to understand color as matter and not as an aesthetic element. We started from the three primary colors – yellow, red and blue, and between them two colors apart, resulting in the 12 final colors. The activity was attended by Celso Lima, who, alongside Neide Jallageas, were the curators of the anti–exhibition “Vkhutemas: The future under construction (1918 – 2018).”
On August 27th, the funarte factory received an open lecture by Paulo Pires (curator, essayist and teacher), invited by the Ministries of Culture and Education of Portugal to assume the position of Executive Commissioner of the National Arts Plan. The main objective of the Plan is to promote equal opportunities in access to culture through the articulation of art-culture-education with the help of public institutions and community organizations.
